Last summer my ac quit working and the shop was uncertain as to the cause. Thru this forum I discovered the rf issues with florescent lights, changed out a couple of the ballasts (as described on this forum) and it worked!!
Last month my rear heat pump quit. Back to the forum and someone had suggested simply cutting off the breaker for a few minutes. I didn't try this right away since my breaker was not blown. After other fruitless attempts to figure out a fix I decided to cut off the ac breaker for 5 minutes. Yep, now it it working.

If your AC has heat strips you may want to check the 110 wiring into heat strips could have loose wiring terminal or wire nut.
Loose wiring can cause heated wiring problems.
I agree sometimes info overload, but well worth it. I read the fourms daily like the newspaper. Our kitchen Florescent lights plays havoc with the microwave so we shut the Florescent lights off.
