The dealer in the listing actually encouraged interested parties to pick up the phone and call them. I would recommend that you look for listings with a phone number before you bid. In our case we came to agreement and the dealer added a "buy it now" to the listing and called us as soon as the change went live and we were waiting at the computer to click the button. I too have bought and sold on eBay for many years and I will say that most sellers are honest, but just do your homework and with an investment this size get to know the seller a little. And don't wire final funds until you've actually seen the rig.
Good luck.

Your question about negotiating on the phone. If you agree with them on a price, then all they have to do is change or ad a buy it now to the negotiated price. I have done this in selling and buying.
Recently I have had two fake sellers try to scam me - they had the nice photos, all the specs for the motorhome etc., it was a good deal too - I started emailing, we exchanged phone numbers (theirs was obviously an unregistered cel phone) and they wanted me to wire money to secure the deal - I smelled a rat, they were both scams. I reported them to the Internet Fraud Complaint Center.. Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) | Home
