Eco-Bond Ultra Clear Sealant for Trim Sealing?
I have some trim coming off the side of my Class A, and I think it is letting water get into my slide. The old sealant is definitely cracked and coming off, so it needs fixing, no matter what. From doing some reading, Geocel Pro Flex RV sealant is the stuff to go for. However, I'm no where near anywhere that sells it, and delivery times I've been quoted are in the order of weeks. I've found a product called Eco-Bond Ultra Clear Sealant/Adhesive which is available from Home Depot, that seems like it might do the trick. Has anyone used it before or has a suggestion whether it would be a good choice or not? As far as I can see it meets the requirements;
1: Isn't silicone
2: Will stick to pretty much anything
3: Is flexible
4: Is clear

Why would you not want GE Silicone II ?
I've found it to be the best and longest lasting of
any caulking/sealing/adhesive product that I've
every used.

Because you never want to depend on silicone sealant as the main sealant.

Exactly. Silicone will fail and then nothing will adhere over the silicone residue. In the early '60's silicone was marketed as the new miracle caulk that would outlast everything. Many boat owners thought it would be once and done. Turned out it didn't last, collected dirt, and was impossible to paint over or caulk with something better.
Don't use silicone on anything you're not ready to sell and run!!

I used silicone on top of a slide out once to seal a leak. Took great care to clean it and seal it right. It still leaked. Shortly after that I was at the RV dealer's to get something else and mentioned what I had done.
I was flatly told to never use silicone and that it will not keep it from leaking. They said "go home and just get it by one end and it will zip right off. Frankly I didn't believe them since I was so carefully doing it.
They were right Now I only use Dicor on the top and Lexel if it is on a vertical surface. As recommended in this thread, I just read about that geocel, and it sounds really great also.
