Electrical problem

I have a 1985 Holiday rambler Alumalite XL motor home with big time electrical problems. I attempted to start it this morning and there was a click and then nothing. I have absolutely no power to the cab at all when the ignition key is turned on to acc or start. it is completely dead. I checked the battery and it is at full charge. I was having starter problems prior to this, the battery at full charge the starter was sluggish at certain times. can someone please help

Well I'd certainly start with troubleshooting the starter. When they decide to quit they usually just quit and sometimes at the most inopportune time. Maybe you could check to make sure all of the wires + and - have good connections to the starter/battery. If it is the original starter you probably have have been living on borrowed time. Keep us posted on your findings.

check all cable connections and clean & protect as needed. I had a similar issue with my 96 bounder.......12.7volts at the battery but at first starter would click....then a few min later i only got a click at the starter relay/solenoid. When I tried it again with a boost hooked to my battery.......no power at all. I found many connections that were rusty/corroded. I disconnected the battery, dissembled all the connections from the battery to the starter and cleaned everything with ScotchBrite and steel bristle brush and reassembled and it has worked great since.

X2. Exactly where I was gonna go. You should have acc power if all cables and connections are good.

Might try crawling under the beast and finding the starter. There will be a heavy duty grounding strap to a gang grounding stud on the frame. Loosen that nut and retighten for a good ground. This happen to us in a CG in the middle of nowhere and the ground was the problem. When we got home, I took the wire ends apart, cleaned and reinstalled...we also didn't have power to the dash gauges.

I'd also check starter terminal ends, they could be loose as well...but be careful you don't ground your wrench while doing so.
