Electrical problem

Drove the coach 300 km yesterday. A warning went off on the xantrex RC/GS "Hi-bat". Immediately the ABS light went off in the message centre. A bit later the check engine light came on. Over the course of our journey these warnings (all three) came on and off while the voltage gage fluctuated between 13 and 17 volts. Warnings came on when voltage was above 15 and went off when it dropped below 15.

Read the Xantrex RC/GS manual, they explain this is because battery voltage is high, they say to stop all charging sources to the batteries except the xantrex system. I have no idea how to do this.

Any thoughts?

Are you running the gen set while driving ?

If so you may need to track down the 120v circuit breaker that powers your convertor/ charger and turn it off until the engine has been turned off.

The cause of the high voltage may be your engine alternator or voltage regulator. The Xantrex, ABS and engine check warning lights are simply the result.

Get it checked immediately.

Took it into the shop. Busted alternator. $1200. Ouch. Glad I purchased an extended warranty.
