Not trying to hijack your question, but is the problem the unit stopped working, or does it extend okay and not retract? If it stopped working either direction, it should be 12VDC and should have a fuse, I trust you checked the fuse? If it extends and does not retract it may be the wall switch, you may want to open that up and do some investigating. Since it is a DC motor the forward/reverse action is accomplished by switching polarity on the motor, correct? So, if it extends then the wiring and motor should be good and the issue may be in the switch itself. Just a thought, there may be more to it than the above, but I hope you get the issue cleared up soon.

The awning is extended but not completely, it will not retract or extend , i took the panel out and checked incoming voltage to the switch, no voltage . It is a yellow wire with a white stripe , I checked the fuses all good. I cannot find the yellow /white wire ,this is the reason I am in need of a schematic.
thank you Bill

Most awnings I have seen have a pair of contact points you can touch with two wires from a 12v battery to get the awning in when it fails in the out position. The points are normally somewhere on the head of the arm where the motor is located. The Carefree replacement I had installed several years ago even came with the necessary jump wire with alligator clips on one end.

My opinion no voltage at switch means fuse.
