electrical problem need help!!!! please

2005 safari cheetah... when the coach is plugged into 30 amp shorepower the engine starts right up even after long storage periods but when dry camping and using the generator the chassis batteries go dead after about 36 hours of use. i replaced the house batteries but they are not being kept charged. when trying to start the engine and using the boost button the generator dies and will not restart due to dead batteries. i have no 12 volt power unless the gen. is running. the dealer says the inverter /charger is ok. does anyone know what my problem could be? I run the gen. the entire time so the a/c runs. No solar panels. Why would i need to use the inverter but it stays on the entire time. I never turn it off. I run a/c,ref. 2tv's on 110v with the inverter on. Of course sat. receivers on 110v and some lights that are 12v

Hi Perrer9950,
You don't say how long you run your generator or if you have any solar panels.
What do you run for that 36 hours? Do you use the inverter during that time? What do you run on 110 with the inverter?

Halfglass.

It sounds like the Bi-Directional Isolator Relay Delay(BIRD) or one of the solenoids it controls is not charging the chassis batteries.

Hello PEPPER9950 and . We are glad to have you join us and we look forward to reading of your adventures and experiences. I am sure you will enjoy the website and forums. Good luck, stay safe and keep us posted.
Verify that the house battery bank is connected to house distribution panel.
What happens if you disconnect the chassis battery? Will the generator start?
Do you know how your inverter 120vac side wiring is configured and understand how it operates in various modes? If so, have you checked this operation?
If you turn the inverter off, do you loose power to circuits like microwave and entertainment receptacles? Have you checked all circuit breakers? If all circuit breakers are good and you loose power, then your inverter is not passing thru the current or charging your battery bank. When the inverter is turned on, it is using your battery bank to in fact make the 120vac you are using. The generator is producing 12vdc giving you the lights and voltage to battery bank to invert 120vac power for TV, satellite receiver and such.
