Electrical question

I have a 2011 Tiffin Phaeton, it is in storage and plugged into 50amp power that keeps the residential refrigerator operational.

However, everything else is OFF (lights, micro wave, AC, etc.) when I turn on the 12v at the entrance door lights come on, micro wave flashes, thermostats turn on, etc.

Is this normal ?

Thanks for any information.

Sounds normal to me.
If you are plugged into 50 amps while storing, you shouldn't need to turn off the 12v House Batteries, purely optional.

I have never turned off that switch on our 2011 Phaeton to know how it behaves... No need to do so when stored with power on.

Don't know why that would be "normal." AC and 12v are two separate systems, and should work independently of each other. Do you have an inverter involved? There is no reason the M/W should flash when you turn the 12v on...unless the inverter is powering up...or I'm missing something here...

If the MicroWave is flashing when you turn the 12 volts on I suspect that you are not only turning 12 volts on but are also powering up your inverter/converter.

And you do need to leave your inverter/converter on if you want to keep your batteries charged up.

I also have a "store/use" switch near my door that I never use. I turn the things off individually. If I am storing for a longer period I then turn some breakers off in the electric panel...

Agree that it sounds like the inverter could be causing the microwave flash, but with shore power active the inverter on/off shouldn't matter unless it's internal transfer switch is defective. All the other things mentioned have 12v-powered circuit boards, so will be aware when the 12v disconnect comes on. The microwave does not use any 12v at all.
