------Electrical questions------

1994 gulfstream

Does the engine alternator charge the coach batteries? put a volt meter on with engine running and it show that it does not. Should it? I would love to use the alternator to keep them up on a long trip running the tv continous.

I am going to install a inverter to be able to run the tv (small things) down the road can i just plug the shore power into it? seems simple to me.

thank you

What model and chassis is the coach on? I would think that all of the class A's would charge the house battery bank off the alternator. If it is a class C it may not. You might consider asking this question in the Gulf Stream Owners forum farther down the main forum page.
