Emergency Start Switch

I have a 1994 Coachmen Catalina on a Ford F53 Chassis. On the Dash there is a switch labeled "Emergency Start", and in the owners manual it is mentioned in passing, but yet no explanation of its purpose is offered. The only thing I can think of is it uses the coach batteries to help the chassis battery start? I have a Intellitec battery disconnect system, but I don't see any reference to an emergency start switch in the info.

That should indeed switch a relay to connect the house batteries to the chassis batteries to allow you to start your coach when your batteries are too low.

In the occasion when your coach batteries are too low to start the generator, you can also use it to boost them from the chassis batteries.

X2. All of the above is true. That switch connects all batteries together. If you use it, you must press and hold it in. The batteries are tied together only as long as the switch is engaged.

If a battery is so depleted that it will not start, it will behoove you hold the switch down for several minutes be trying to start as it takes awhile for the current to flow from the charged batteries to the depleted battery.
