Hello,
I called them today...Anthony (quick to return call)...asked basic questions...finally said send it in and we will send you another one under warranty----asked what was wrong with it are you sure not on my end...he said no idea. Fill out warranty claim ( kind of blew me off)...I did that and Christina REPLIED ..."SO SORRY YOU AREN'T THE ORIGINAL OWNER---WARRANTY DENIED. Folks I would have gladly paid for replacement, etc. by the way took it out and All systems worked...Be careful!

You said it did it when you "moved the cord around". I would be chasing a cord with broken strands inside.

After I disconnected the PI box to prepare for shipping it back, everything worked as before without it installed. Generator was working, it had tripped the breakers. I reset them and everything is working again. Getting a portable surge protector for now. Thanks for all the replies!
ps. The generator breakers tripped, wouldn't effect the PI unit would it???

Kind of off the subject but this thread made me think of it, most RVerís never look at the plug on the end of their power cord and/or dog bone, those prongs are subject to some pretty harsh conditions, they get dirty and corroded, just take some steel wool and give them a polish, it will greatly improve your connections!

I'm assuming that whoever installed your PI, installed it as most do which is on the output of the shorepower cord, which PI is then the input to the transfer switch. If that is true, then no, the generator breaker trip doesn't effect the PI unit.

Most transfer switches are set up, so that the generator has priority. 'IF' the generator is running and supplying power (ie, the generator breaker isn't tripped), then the transfer switch selects that input and passes it thru to the transfer switch output. That is irregardless of whether there is shorepower available or not.

If the generator is not running, but there is shorepower available, then the shorepower is passed thru to the transfer switch output.

Genset impact on PI unit depends on where it was installed--some owners install the PI unit upstream from the transfer switch so both shore power and the genset are monitored. Not necessary to monitor genset IMHO???? I have had the PI 50 amp equip [hard-wired] for over ten years--with only one issue. As mentioned, I re-wired [wire nuts and wire segments] around unit until PI could expedite a control board to me--pretty much plug and play.
PS--am incline to think OP's issue is the PI unit. Would think any down stream problem [eg, cord or plugs] which would cause PI to cut power, would cause the PI to throw an error code?????
