Engine Brake Failure

The engine brake on my 2014 Itasca Ellipse 42QD often fails to engage. I took it to two Freightliner/Cummins repair shops who both drove it and witnessed the failure but could not identify the problem. The coach was at one repair shop for three days. Later, I had a conversation with the owner of a similar model who said it was a known problem and the temporary fix is to put your foot under the accelerator and lift up as there is a sensor on the accelerator that doesn't always recognize that the accelerator is not depressed. I was skeptical but when I tried this temporary fix it worked. If owners know of the problem, how can Freightliner and its authorized repair shops be unaware?

The only Freightliner repair place I trust to know RV's is Gaffney SC. Even their Oasis dealers suck for RVs. Call Gaffney and they will direct you on the fix.
