Engine enhancements for the Ford V-10

Has anyone done any performance enhancements on their Ford V-10. The only one I've found is Gale Banks and they're a bit pricy.

5 Star tune not only helps the shifting on the V10 but give it a small increase in HP and TQ. Well worth it for the shifting but we also saw an improvement in hill climbing and mpg actually increased 1 to 1.5 mpg. Was last month on our trip from California to Utah and back towing our jeep. Our friends who travel with us all the time said they could see a marked improvement in the way we were able to get down the road. Highly recommend this for any V10 motorhome.

Enhancements for V10 engine

In 2007 I installed the full Banks system on my 1999 motorhome. No more down shifting on interstate hills. Costly, but for me well worth it. At the time I don't if the five star was available. I did the installation myself. Hugh

I've run my 2001 National Tropical and now my 2015 Tiffin Allegro strictly stock. They get me down the road. I can't justify spending $500 to $3000 to get a marginal and probably psychological increase in performance. Don't forget, these are 20,000 pound vehicles. They are not going to perform like a sports car. Save your money and enjoy the ride.

Five Star tune. Installed on the 2002 Pace Arrow we had previously. Substantial improvement in shifting and driveability.

Same with my coach. Never had a problem finding the 5250 rev limiter on freeway on ramp or the 3000 RPM fifth gear limiter. No problem climbing the Eastern US mountains thru West Virginia on I64 or I40 thru North Carolina. Haven't go far enough west to test the Rockies. Normal loading has my weight around 17,000 pounds on a 18,000 GVWR chassis pulling a 3500 pound Honda CRV.

I throw in with the 5-star tune fans. Not a psychological improvement. 2016 Tiffin Allegro 32SA, 24K lb chassis. Much improved shifting, loses less speed on the hills when towing, better downshifting in Tow-Haul on the downhills to hold speed. As far as a performance enhancement, best bang for the buck. Stock works okay. 5-star is an enhancement and will improve an already good experience, as far as I'm concerned.

my opinion. worth what you paid for it.
