Engine shuts off with parking brake application

I have a 98 coachman Santara DP. Lately the engine shuts down when I set the parking brake. Any ideas. I have not taken it to my mechanic yet.

Thank you,
Scott

Has it always done this or is it something that just started? Parking brake just dumps air.

I apologize I edited my recommendation. I misread the OP description of the problem and did not see that it was a diesel pusher. My recommendation would not have been valid so I removed it. Please accept my apologies

The only electronic component, I can think of in an air brake, park brake, is the sensor for the warning buzzer that tells you the park brake is on when you put the trans into gear.
Will the engine restart with the brake set ?
I'm at a loss on this problem so please post on your mechanic's findings.

If it's a '98 Cummins ISB, there's not a lot of electronics. I agree gemini5362, it might be a ground connection. Do the dash warning lights light up when it shuts down? Buzzers? Does anything happen if you wiggle the ignition key when running? I'd do more exploring before calling a mechanic.
