Engine will not shut down

I have a 1999 Winnebago suncruiser, cumin diesel... the engine will not shut down when I turn the key off. I do not have voltage to shut down the fuel system when the key is in the off position. I need to find the wiring diagram on the interface between the engine and the coach. where can I find it?

on the pickup trucks (dodges, Ppumped) their is a relay that shuts off fuel, look on your firewall. or remove the air cleaner and filter and get a rag and (hold on to it good) and close off the intake, I have a air shut off on my truck and it kills it fast when activated but I also have a ECM and it kills the fuel

Disconnecting the chassis batteries, watch for sparks, will shut the engine off , sounds like you have a sticking ignition relay.
Is your Cummins engine an ISB 5.9l , 12 valve or 24 valve ?

Don't pull the air cleaner and put a rag in the intake! That is your best chance to have a major problem!

Happened to me. I found the fuel shut off solenoid was bad. Replaced it myself.

If you engine is ECM equipped , I'm thinking 24 Valve.
Don't know what wiring info you have but this may help.
Don't forget to check other wiring info on your coach for the presence of an ignition relay that may be stuck on. My F/L has relays for ignition run.
Have you contacted F/L for a wiring schematic ?

Replaced the ECM, ouch $$$. noticed that the engine will respond to the accelerator when it is running with the Key off. Also the "park" lamp is still on. doesn't go off until I kill the engine. any thoughts???

You replaced the ECM, and the engine still won't shut down with the key?

Another member with similar issue had wiring crossed at the alternator he had just replaced.
Has there been any electrical work performed , prior to this problem ?

I'd look in back for the fuel shut off solenoid. While engine is running, try pulling the plug on it. That would be the simple, cheap, solution. Start with that and move on to the more expensive ideas after. DO NOT put a rag anywhere near the air filter, or run it with air filter off. It's not a pick up truck, it will eat your rag and chew it up in the turbo!

I had the exact same problem with our 94 Cobra 5.9 Cummins pusher, the shut down solenoid was sticky, when it didn't shut down I lifted the bed, wiggled the rod from the solenoid to the injector pump and that would kill it, lubed up all the components of the shut down linkage and haven't had a problem since.

Hope this works for you

With the 98 1/2 introduction of the 24 valve Cummins and the VP-44 injector pump and the Engine Control Module, on the 5.9l all the easy fixes went out the window.
Once there is a computer involved, everything gets complicated.

seems that the ECM run command may be coming from my ignition. I can't find the ignition switch and wiring on any of the Winnebago drawings. Can someone tell me where to look? I'm getting close I hope

Ignition wiring is part of the Freightliner wiring harness , unless Winne includes that schematic you won't find it from them.
I'd send you mine , but on the off chance they may be different best to call Freightliner help line, with your serial number.

Ask about, joining Access Freightliner, takes a while but you get online access to wiring diagrams and schematics and parts info specific to your chassis.
