I have recently seen a hickory floor installed in a Journey and it looked great. We are currently trying to decide on what to replace our carpet in a 3 slide Monaco Executive that has natural maple cabinetry. We are considering engineered hardwood hickory but here so much about humidity levels, how it needs to be installed, how does it work with slides, etc. We need some advice. We are leaving our tile so whatever we do needs to butt up to 3/8 inch tile. Have read blogs from Ernie Ekberg and he seems he knows what he is doing. We have to be making a decision soon. Currently we are in the southwest desert and are concerned about the expanding and contracting of wood.

Go with Ernie's recommendations on flooring material. He lives in TX and is no stranger to heat and moisture or lack thereof.

We put Mannington Adura in our coach 3 years ago and it's still like new. We are full timers and we use it hard.

engineered wood works well. No issues at all. Columbia makes the 3/8 hickory. If you are leaving your tile and have a square edge design and not a curve, you can get the real T molding. If rounded you will need the vinyl molding. The vinyl comes in many colors to blend in.

Is it glued or floated? We know nothing about installation and want it done right if we go to the expense. Do you use the click locking planks?

I use tongue and groove. I adhere all floors with urethane adhesive. It doesn't move, shrink, expand or sound like you are walking on something hollow. Rock solid.
