Entegra Anthem Step Issues

As I arrived at a campground, I opened the door to exit the coach and the steps came out about 4 inches and stopped. I checked (replaced) fuses, checked electrical connections to the step motor and generally looked for issues. I found none. I called Entegra and they helped me troubleshoot and thought it might be a door magnetic sensor. I ordered parts and they arrived yesterday. Today, I changed out the magnetic door sensor. The problem still exists. Looking for some help from anyone that may have had similar problem in the past.

More than likely the electric motor has seized or a gear has stripped in the drive. I don't know what brand steps the Entegra uses, but it's a known issue with Kwikee and other brands. There is a lot of usage in and out on the steps and the motor and gear drives are exposed to the elements. I just had to replace the motor and gearbox on ours that was just over two years old. Ours was similar in that they pulled in to within about four inches of being fully retracted then would not move in or out.

I second what Lt. Dan said. Change my step motor this week. Get number out of motor, will probably end in 1001 or 1009, call Lippert components in Goshen, Id. They’ll be happy to send you one ($123.00). Watch alignment pin & washers when disassembling & repack heat when you reassemble.
Good luck!

Look for rocks in the track of the steps. Road gravel
