EPDM Roof rubber roof

Was wondering if anyone has used this product from menards on there rubber roof. Im in need of doing some maintenance on my roof and looking at going with a thicker rubber coating. I just can't get myself to pay the hundreds of dollars for some of the coatings out there. This product says its for campers and rv's along with several other applications its for and has a ten year warranty. Looking forward to some feed back. Than you.

Does it require a primer?
How many coats must be applied for the warrantee?
How thick will the dried product be?
Is it mixed with a catalyst or applied right out of the can?

If you DIY, labor cost is not a factor.

It say a 5 gallon bucket is going to cover 50-100 sq ft so lets say 75 on verage one coat. That means for a 34 ft MH will need almost 20 gallons at 80 bucks per 5.

Dico is cheaper and better

I would call the manufacturer and ask if can be used on EPDM before using. How old is the roof? Is it just dirty or have black mold? If so it can be cleaned of both.

I have had two Aerolite RV trailers (05' & 13') both having a EPDM rubber roof. But both were vastly different. The 05' was really smooth, the 13' has a very textured surface. The smooth one seemed to contract and expand with the seasons. The textured one seems to be of a "thicker" quality, where I would think a product you are thinking about might adhere better.

Did a lot of research back when on my Rubber roof and I used the Kool Seal kit - Clean the roof with Bleach Water then Coat with the Kool Seal Primer -- Then Coat with the Kool Seal Coating -- 2 Coats - Every 2 years I Clean the roof with Bleach Water and put on 2 coats of Kool Seal on and it looks great and seals the Roof .
By the way I've been doing this since 2000.

I just did my 34' EPDM roof with liquid rubber. I used flex-primer (1 coat) and then the liquid rubber (3 coats). I got the 5 gallon bucket and still have a small bit left over after applying 3 coats waiting 24hrs between coats. It cost me about $450 and I did it myself. I understand that you want to save money but I don't know if I would use this stuff on EPDM. It doesn't say it's for EPDM on the side of the can, it might not stick well. Maybe buy a little bit and test it on a small patch of your roof and see if you can peal it off in a week.

It states that one gallon covers 50-100 square foot. also, I wonder about using it on EDPM roofs. Eddie Elk.

Hey DirtWrux if you use the product, (I'd probably call the manufacturer) please come back and let us know how it works for you. A picture would be great also.
Here's a link to a rubber roof treatment by the RV Doctor.

Hey Tyler, you said you used liquid rubber is that the name of the product or its formulation? If it has a brand name please let us know, and where it is available.
Thanks.

I believe this is what Tyler was talking about. I used it on my 5er over five years ago still looks good. It is outside year round in northern AZ at 6,100 ft, snow, monsoons, and summer sun has not effected it. I am going to use it on my MOHO next year.

The thicker one is probably not EPDM it is likely TPO (Thermo Plastic Olefin) which is marketed under the "Alpha-Ply" brand. (Product Care & Warranty - Alpha Systems, LLC)
The care of each type of roof is similar but different.

Dico is cheaper and better
75 sq ft X 20 gallons = 1500 sq ft
That is larger than many/most stick houses

Most motorhomes will be only 250-400 sqft on the roof.
