Eternabond on skylight good idea?

I'm using Dicor on my plumbing vents and want to use Eternabond on my roof seams, skylight and other square vents. My only concern in using the Eternabond on the skylight and other square vents is how difficult it will be to remove the Eternabond if I need to change a skylight or a Fanstastic fan. Is this a valid concern?

Assuming you won't be using the skylight or fan again (replacement), the Eternabond can be removed with an oscillating tool and scraper blade. Same tool makes pretty fast work of removing old Dicor caulk also.

Ryobi 18-Volt One+ JobPlus Base with Multi-tool Attachment (Tool-Only)-P340 at The Home Depot

There are a bunch of oscillating tools from various manufacturers ... mine is a cordless Porter and works very well.

I used Eternabond on my skylights and would do it again.

I recently did exactly as the OP suggests. All straight runs and seams I replaced with Eternabond. I ordered a new skylight dome to tape down (seemed the best thing to do to prevent future problems). To remove skylight, simply cut the tape, remove/replace dome, and then Eternabond tape over the cut. I am glad to be done with those areas for at least a dozen years now that they are sealed with Eternabond.

I did mine 4 years ago and the seals look like I did the work yesterday.

Go for it

Thanks
