Eternabond Tape

What is the best way to remove the sticky glue left behind after removing the tape. I am in the process of cleaning and re coating my roof with Dicor roof products.

I have had 2 professionals try and neither could remove it completely. One at the mfr service center when I had put it over a roof crack that had to be fixed and the other where I had used it to seal cracks in roof rails where the rails had to be replaced. I don't think it is possible to get it all off. That tape is meant to stick forever.

If you are replacing the old vinyl tape I have read that you can add new tape right over old glue!

You might take a look at the Eternabond website. I think I remember seeing a video there that covers the steps necessary to remove the stuff. Might be some info there re your question. You could also call them to see what advice they may offer. Try a Google search to find the website.....hope that helps.

You have to drive to Mordor where there are Wizards available. That's the only way.

I had to remove a long strip on an old camper that I had and it was an incredible chore. I tried brushes, wire wheels, scrapers, etc. and could never it completely off. The best way was with a scraper, stiff scour pad, and various solvents.

I've not tried it but have read several (on this forum & others) had good luck by heating a putty knife with propane torch and scraping while blade is hot.
