Ever done this dumb thing?

Have a 2008 Monaco Knight and I pull a Honda CRV. Well, I stopped on my way to Asheville to let the dog out at a rest stop. I went over and started the engine on the Honda. Ran it thru the gears and put it back into neutral. Charged the battery a bit and ran fluid into the transmission. Well, I forgot to turn the engine off.

Got to my camp and heard a noise when I went back to disconnect the car heard the engine running with the doors locked. Got my extra key and took care of the car. Car seems fine.

Has anyone ever done this?

Steve

Nope! And I doubt if you'll get anyone to admit it.
What happen's on the road...stays on the road.

Wonder what your mpg was that trip. LOL

I never did that, however I pulled into a pull through and put the Saturn ( at the time ) in park and then decided to pull up a few feet in the site. Made 8" rut on the gravel. EEK. Luckily no damage was done.

I felt like an idiot when this happened. Dog was with me and I think I was preoccupied with him. Next time, no dog with me when doing is.

Every time I mess up it's always the dogs fault. I used to blame DW, but she fights back!

No, but someone (won't say who) left the CRV key in the ACC position overnight and ended up with a dead battery. I jump started the car and left it running until the first rest stop about an hour down the road. Got some funny looks leaving the campground but worked just fine.
