Iggy sent a copy of the Rules and regs regarding RI parks. So, They don't prohibit the use of a Generator. BUT, You can only use it between certain hrs, because of QUITE times. Your A/C(s) is NOT louder than your Generator. So if you were running your AC while running your Generator, how would they know? It would be nearly impossible to enforce that rule.
So it's either like LJwt said: The electrical service is not adequate for RV air conditioning, or it's tied to the "quiet hours" rules.
Anyway They LOST us at "No alcohol." No Cigars or Beer/wine, no thanks RI, we'll just have to "Blink" when driving by (that minuscule state) LOL.

I’ve been in several parks that didn’t allow electric heaters, although how they would know is beyond me. I’ve also been in a couple that had rules about air conditioning couldn’t be left on when you weren’t there.

Ran across this the other day. 50 amp, but no heaters allowed?

Fisherman's State Park is right on the water, nights should be cool precluding the need for A/C anyhow.

I am currently working with the local campground due to inadequate power supply. We have been told to expect $35K to upgrade due to National Electric Code requirements for campgrounds. We have put this on a 3 year plan for review. In the mean time, the occupants have been very understanding about power drops in the middle of a hot day. I have been splitting circuits to reduce the demand, but even that is taking time to work with the power company. Hope you find good results at another campground.

If the restrictions included a reasonable nightly rate it may be something I could live with. But, if it was very hot, I would just find a place to boondock and run the generator.

I read it as a poorly constructed list of the type of sites available:
"Tent sites: 84, 220ft elev, Heater not allowed, electric"
"6 elec-water hookups, 20/30/50 amp"
"13 50amp sites, tables, grill, water"
If they used periods or semi-colons instead of commas, it would be less confusing, IMO.

On hot afternoons/evenings at the park we are at in northern Arizona our coach occasionally loses power. The neighbors were OK, the park circuit breaker was OK and the coach circuit breakers were OK. Turns out our hardwired Surge Guard EMS was dropping the connection due to low voltage due to the electric demand of everyone running their air conditioning. I would imagine that park had similar issues with their overloaded electric system and had this restriction so their customers without an EMS system didn't damage their RV electrics.
