Extended Waranty: Another Happy Experience
There's alway great debate anytime someone asks about the wisdom of purchasing an extended warranty. No one answer fits for everyone so the debate will go on.
As for us, we purchased our first ever RV nearly four years ago now. It's a 40DP and we were rookies so we purchased the extended wty along with it. I normally don't purchase extended warranties but being such a rookie I though it would give me some peace of mind... and I'm happy to report that it has.
Over the past year we covered a 9000 mile loop of the country and are now set up in the west Phoenix valley for a couple of months. After shaking off the dust from the road, there were a number of items on the coach which needed fixing so I contacted RV MASTER TECHS of Goodyear and they assured me that they frequently worked with EASY CARE, my extended warranty company so I arranged for them to do the work at my site.
I was very impressed with the professionalism of the tech they sent to diagnose the problems and how he went about his work. I paid $50 for the service call and diagnosis and a $50 deductible on my extd wty policy. For that they: Replaced a faulty "big boy isolator solenoid"... Replaced a faulty relay causing the remote road side bay door locks to be inop... Replaced a faulty HWH Touchpad control unit in the HWH jack/slide control center... Repaired a faulty front gas furnace... Replaced a faulty digital compass and outdoor temp indicator.
So, even in hind sight, I'm happy I purchased the extended warranty from Easy Care. In three years now they have never bounced a claim... always dealt directly with the outfit doing the repairs... and now, I've found an authorized MOBIL TECH outfit that I trust so I don't have to make those pesky trips back to the dealer.
I don't keep track but I'm sure I haven't "broken even" on the wty (yet)but it has provided a great deal of peace of mind and it's sure nice to just be able to call the mobil techs out to my site knowing they'll just handle it with Easy Care.
If you're in the market for an extended wty you could do a lot worse than Easy Care and if you're looking for mobil tech work in this area I can throw a vote to RV Master Techs of Goodyear, Az.

Good going Rick it paid off for you. With that said if you Goggle for complaints they always seem to have them who ever they are.
Like the Video Professor I ran into at one time.

I guess you can please some of the people some of the time....
I read through the first page of search results and they seemed to be focused on how BMW treated them rather than easy care but with so many other pages to follow I'm sure there were plenty of complaints about EC as well.
Not sure I understand the reference to Video Professor....
EC has sure treated me well so far. I even forgot to include in my OP that EC allowed me $1750 credit toward installation of my new Winegard HD Sat Dish when my OEM dish quit working!
Oh well.

I'm giving my Good Sam Extended Warrenty a test right now. On my last trip one of my propane developed a stress crak at the welded on mounting bracket. Hpofully Good Sam and I will still be in love by the end of next week. They were good the last and only time I used them.

Good Sam's just paid for a new front air conditioner on top, cluster speedo stop working and a hydro boost unit for brakes. Top total bill was like 2780.00 they paid everything but my $500.00 part. A plus if you ask me.

Me too. And I was just reading a thread about someone who got an $8400 surprise at a Cummins shop. We pays our money and takes our chances I guess.

I don't have a complaint with the company we HAD (now expired), however we got back about 25% of what we paid. Like life insurance, it was piece of mind, not a good financial decision.
I won't do it again, if we should purchase another unit.

We used our RV Elite Warranty to pay for cracked water lines. Former owner may not have winterized. Then the replacement of the microwave control panel. Today we are using it again to replace a leaking air pressure gauge in the dash which would be over $800 if we did not have the warranty. The warranty pays for the entire bill with sales tax, shipping and labor. We decided to pay $20 to have the part over-nighted. We pay a deductible of $100. We would not go without a warranty because too many things can go wrong. Happy Trails, Joe

Please, before you make any changes check the above for extended warranty coverage. They're $2,865 less than EasyCare over a 7 year period aaannnnndddd they cover consequential repairs. GS, Elite, or EasyCare dosen't even have that. Look at them first, they will save you $$ with a better coverage.
They're a commercial FMCA member also.

i called these people today, they recommended two that they sell, xtracare and general fidelity..the price quote was 2600 with 200.00 deductible for 4yr/48,000 miles or general fidelity(allegiance) for 2693 for same years and mileage with 100.00 deductible(they said the administrator for this is dimensions. I've heard of the xtra care from this site but what about the gen. Fidelity(allegiance) this seemed to be the one he prefferred . He said there would be an additional 200.00 for CONSEQUENTIAL to be added to each.. Can you pm me since you are familiar and let me know what you think...if there is anyone else that has experience with wholesale warranties would you please comment. I spoke to jeff in san diego..is this who you used? Does anyone know about dimension(allegiance)? Thanks
