Do a search on IRV2, lots of threads on this subject. You'll get two responses; No, I 'self-insure' or yes, wouldn't be without it. I'm in the yes camp. Just read the forums, stuff breaks all the time. You have to read the warranty very carefully, as the warranty companies aren't in business to PAY your claim, they are in business to DENY your claim. Like any insurance, the devil is in the details. Shop around and read the policy from front to back.
Good luck!

This advice is from someone who bought his first RV in the early eighties and is STILL worth exactly what you are paying for it. If extended warranties were a good deal for the consumer then insurance companies would not offer them. However, if you are unlucky enough to buy a coach that has allot of problems then it is a great deal for you. I think you should make your decision according to the comfort level it gives you. If peace of mind is given by owning one then my all means. If you are comfortable with the prospect that you probably wont spend as much for repairs as the policy will cost you then dont worry and go RVing.
Hope this was of some help and please keep us up to date on your decision.

My $0.02 worth of input is buying extended service/warranty for a seemingly 12 year old coach you will be paying through the nose. I would self-insure and put my money in the bank! Personally, I would not buy EW regardless of the age of my RV.
All the best!

Ask yourself why extended warranties are one of the most lucrative profit centers for the selling dealer and the insuring company? I've never bought one on any vehicle and have saved tens of thousands over the years. However, some just can't sleep well without one. It's a personal comfort decision.

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang!
I've never been a fan of extended warranties. Too expensive and too many loopholes. Some folks have benefited from them but I think they are in the minority! Keep her between the ditches!
Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!
