Extended Warranties...

Looking for pros and cons on extended warranties and cost: XtraRide Extended Service Warranty is one I've heard about. I am sure there are others out there. Any ideas?? Thanks... Tom D.

When we bought our coach from a wholesale dealer we were sold an extended warranty called RV Elite. Then we started getting all our work done at a Winnie/Itasca dealership. The warranty has a $100 deductible that is only charged once no matter how many items are fixed on a single visit. When we had to use it the Winnie Dealer commented that we were lucky that we were sold a "good one." We had four water lines with connections replaced and the microwave circuit board for the $100 deductible which covered everything. $2849.00 for 5 years or 60,000. We bought the coach last January with 7,000 miles on it. So far we think it is worth it with $130 hourly labor charges in this part of the country. We also carry CoachNet Road Service and State Farm Accident Insurance. In 2009, on a prior coach, State Farm paid a $4,000 wind damage claim under comprehensive with no deductible. We are also happy with them. So far...so good. Time will tell if RV Elite is as good as we think it is. You can never be sure about coverage until you need to use it.
Happy Travels, Joe

Thanks Joe, I'll check them out... that's less than .05 a mile for coverage.

We have had the Good SAMs extended warranty for four years . We have needed it four times and are very happy with it.

No problem at all getting quick approval for repairs.

This is what we have. We will have a small claim this week for some furnace work a a few odds and ends, so we will see how it works.

Mine is an 03, just out of it's 7 year extended. Over the last seven years, we save a total of 6,438.98. I'd say it was great for us. When we bought it, we were thinking this was stupid to pay an extra 2,500. But as you can tell that figure did not come out of our pockets, well it actually did but for other things we bought for it

I have a policy with EASY CARE, call 800-747-4704, ask for Elisha Tenorio, you won't be sorry. I got a 5 yr, 50k miles, platium policy that covers everthing for 2200.00. Only thing is your rig has too be in warranty at the time of purchase.
