extended warranty

We have 2006 Tradewinds with 400 hp cummins isl. We purchased XtraRide warranty and have been happy with the 2 claims so far. It was recommended by PPL motorhomes. Have had a sldeout motor replaced and a $3000.00 repair to the genset. Service manger where the work was done was impressed with the way they pay. He said he wished his dealership sold this companies warranty.

I also spoke with Jeff at wholesale warranties. He is recommending an outfit called Dimension Service who administers the plan for American Bankers Insurance of florida. good price and good plan. Anyone heard of these guys?

Interstate Star...Diamond coverage..... $700 tow charge and $345 replacement of a fan belt, not covered.....$945 window (standing water between the panes of a double paned window)....not covered. Won't even pay to have it repaired, even if I pay the shipping etc..... all since last Sept......'nuff said.

I have that coverage also, so far covered step motor, inverter, w/h board, entertainment system and slide relay. They didn't cover a fan belt (maintenance item) I've no complaints with them.

mixed review

I have Good Sams premium plan. I had some jack issues and they paid but did tell me I needed to contact them before I went into a shop.(If it was seals, I would have been under my deductible) A month into the season, our water tank started leaking. They said I would need to provide evidence that it had been professionally winterized to be covered even though it started leaking well into the camping season. It seems like the "do it yourselfers" are out of coverage with Good Sam.

Trust me on this one we have been fighting with Good Sam for the last 2 Weeks.... GOOD SAM is a scam they find ANYTHING possible to NOT pay a claim. I would rather put that money in the bank and sit on it rather than give those people another penny of my money. Maybe before Affinity bought it took over whatever but since they also own Camping World I am planning on staying away from there also.

They didn't even offer to paid the bearing part. I don't remember if that cost was under my deductible.
In this case I'm not surprised the insurance company denied the claim. If the only problem was a noisy clutch bearing they are generally replaced for less than $200.00 including labor. There's no reason to remove the compressor or drain and recharge the system. In most cases the clutch can be removed and the bearing replaced in about an hour.

I had Good Sams on old motorhome and never had any trouble with them paying out. I had two claims, 1st claim, engine a/c compressor went out, then just this year before we traded the insturment cluster went out, the front a/c unit quite and the hydro boost unit started leaking brake fliud. They paid out 2,200.00. I had the Good sams Gold warranty.

We are" trying" to deal with Good Sam ESP for a breakdown that accourding to the repair shop needs to be covered. However, They GS say no. We have gone over the contract with a fine tooth comb and the items that caused the break down are not on the long list of exclusions. Also we are trying to find some comments on this ESP and don't see where it works for anyone. Or even how anyone gets it to work

I have XtraRide. Twice they have paid for claims, 1st was for a new BCC, a new propane leak detector, a new pilot generator for the oven, a new splenide washer pump. Same work order, 100.00 deductable. 2nd time for new entry door hinges and alignment. Both claims were authorized over the phone.

First.....only buy an "exclusionary" policy. Not "parts listed". Second...check out the insurance companies issuing the policy. Also, are they part of another insurance company. See if the administrator is part of the insurance company, not someone from the outside they hire to deny as much as possible.

See if you can make monthly payments instead of a full cash payment up front. Don't do automatic checking deductions. Pay with a paper check each month.

See if you can get a "consequential damage" option. Double check that "seals and gaskets" are not excluded.
