Extended Warranty Info

We are exploring extended warranty on our new 2017 Ventana. Any suggestions? Also, what is a reasonable amount to pay for really good coverage?

I just canceled mine. Unlike a car, these extended warranties are hit and miss and can delay repairs with the shop negotiating with the Warranty company. I paid about $3400 and got $3100 back. I put that in my RV Repair Fund. I have found most folks fix things themselves. I have also been told by at least two RV Shops that they would rather deal directly with the owner and get things fixed quickly.

You'll find opinions all over the board on this subject. I'm not sure why you would want a extended service contract on a brand new coach. Some people can't sleep at night without the security of an EW, while others including myself think it's a waste of money. They are a big profit center for the dealers and companies that write them. That should tell you something. However, the next guy is going to tell you he got his money back and then some. Most people do not which is why it such a good money maker for the people who sell them. It's a choice only you can make. What are you comfortable with and how much is it worth to you?

If it was an overall losing proposition, they wouldn't push them nearly as hard.

Our coach was 7 years old when we purchased. Paid near 5k and after 1 year have had 8k in repairs.

Save your money. The dealers that peddle them and the warranty providers are not public charities. They are in the business of being profitable.

We just purchased one for our 2016 Dutch Star. Ours will be effective the day the 1 year Newmar warranty expires. We ended up going through Wholesale warranties. Our quotes for an exclusionary policy, unlimited mileage, full timing with low deductible varied be 6000 dollars. Depending on deductible and what is covered the amount will change. We are not do it yourselfers. It is like an insurance policy, I may or may not use it but, personally, will be glad to have it if needed.
Feel free to pm me if you want more details.

We found a 5 year exclusionary policy with consequential damage option for our new-to-us class A for $4500.
