Actually it's very good advice! Even Consumer Reports says not to buy them, besides, if you think there's going to be that much going wrong with the product, why are you buying it in the first place?
The insurance company is in the business to make money, if they pay out even 50% of what they take in they'll be out of business, and that has happened numerous times leaving the buyer with a worthless piece of paper.

Many schools of thought here. If you wait until your new coach warranty is up, you will have gained the experience as to if you have a problem rig or a good one. Then you can make an educated decision - to buy or not to buy.

The last place I would buy a service contract from is the RV dealership. They push them because they make money on every one they sell. I agree with others, wait until your factory warranty is about to expire. This gives you a lot of time to research and select the company that meets your needs, not the company the the dealerships is pushing.
Happy RVing!

Freedom roads is a ripoff too. I got ripped by them, cancelled the policy over a month ago and I am still waiting on my check
DC RV repair in Bakersfield Ca, is also a ripoff company.

For a new motorhome, I'd put the money in the bank and wait until the warranty is about to expire. Then decide if you are comfortable with the repair issues for the coach.
You have to read the fine print on the warranty and decide if they cover or exclude items that are important to you.
If is and insurance policy and the selling company is in business because the odds are in his favor that you will not get to spend all that you paid for the policy.
If you do get a policy, read it in detail and make sure it has a full cancellation clause for at least the first 30 or 60 days.
The 2008 trailer we just bought, we decided to get the Xtra Ride policy and after two warranty trips to the shop, the warranty is now even on cost for us and the next 2.5 years are on the insurance company less the deductable.

Unfortunately, it's still "BUYER BEWARE!!!!!"
My PERSONAL feeling is that Good Sam is a rip-off. My personal feeling. And now that they are teamed up with Camping World (always an expensive to have anything done), I like them even less.

Finally got my check from the cancelation of my crappy Freedom Roads extended warranty. Only took two months. Them trying to save $100 on my repair cost them $950 in the cancelation, and I will never purchase another item from Campworld who owns freedom roads. I will just put the money in the bank incase I need it for repairs.

It's simple. If you can afford to pay for the repairs out of pocket. Do it! If you can't,
find the best choice for you and buy it by negotiating it out from a reputable provider.
