External LP Gas supply?

Previously we had a fifth wheel and I had an extra LP tank that I would use when the other 2 were empty so in cold weather we never ran out. In winter I would have to refill tanks every couple weeks because we lived in our trailer. Can I do something like this with our Motorhome or would I have to drive to the LP tank when we run out of LP? Can you hook up external tanks?
