EZ Pass Mounting
Looking for advise as to where to mount an EZ Pass transponder on the windshield of a Class A. When it was at the top of the windshield on my Class C it didn't always get read because of the overhang of the bunk area.
Thanks for any help.

Mine is a few inches (5 or 6) from the top center.
Always gets read.
God luck.

Top center on my class A coach. No problems with detection even being mounted in the tinted area of the windshield.

Make sure your plate is registered. The bad-read processing is automated now in most locations, I haven't had a notice in a long time. So even if it doesn't read you won't hear about it and it won't cost you anything extra.

I have found that bottom center on the windshield works the best. If you continue to have issues you may have to request a plate mounted transponder which mounts at the top of your license plate. That’s what we had to do when we had a Class C.

IF you have a front plate. I don't. Don't have a bumper either. Doesn't mean I couldn't screw it to my front cap, but I'd rather not.

Thanks for your input. The Class C has gone down the road. If I held the transponder lower than at the top of the windshield it was read fine. With the large open windshield of the Georgetown I wouldn't think there would be a problem reading it anywhere. Will mount it at the center bottom.

The instructions for OK Pike Pass call for installation to be in lower left corner, IIRC 2” up and 2” in.

I put mine in the top center of the windshield just below my local toll pass and had no problems with it being read all the way through New England this year.

I don't mount it to the windshield. I just lay mine in the center on the dash at the bottom of the windshield, Haven't had a problem yet.
