F53 chasis Steering Column Rattle

I have a 2011 Itasca Sunova with F53 chassis. When on moderate to very rough roads i have a rattle in the steering column that is extremely annoying. If i hold upward or downward pressure on the steering wheel the noise is suppressed. Where is this coming from and what is the fix?
Thanks in advance for any ideas.

First off, welcome to the forum! Here you will find lots of information and opinions on everything related to your motorhome and RVing. I would do a search under the "Ford Chassis Club" section here to see what has already been discussed about this issue. The Chassis mechanical guys hang out over there. You might also mention how many miles you have on the vehicle.

Thanks, i have 24,000 miles on the chassis, but this has been going on forever. Honestly I should have taken care of while under warranty.

Not sure if its the same, but on my 97 F53 I had the same issue. After crawing around under the dash and under the bottom of the camper I found the "frame" that holds the steering wheel and pedals and such has bolts to hold it to the "body" of the camper. All of the bolts had rattled out. After installing new bolts thru the firewall the rattle was gone. I would hope a 2011 woudn't have this issue, but its worth looking.

Not safe. Go tighten up every nut and bolt in cabin and underneath you can find. May have to remove covers. I've fixed 145 problems on my new MH. Most rattles and unsafe conditions gone.
