Fan-Tastic Fan Parts help

I have a 2004 American Tradition and one of my Fan-Tastic covers and arm assemblies broke over the winter. I pulled out my info on the fan and it is 2000DMS model. It is automatic with a rain sensor and works fine, but I need to replace the cover and arm assembly. I have searched and cannot find for sure what replacement parts I need. I called Fan-Tastic's tech line yesterday and had to leave a message, but still have not heard back. Was hoping someone on here could help me with what newer parts will work for my fan.

Thanks in advance!

Wait to hear back from the Fan-Tastic folks. Their customer service has been the best in the past but they are now owned by a different company so it may not be the same.

Or call them once again.

When we had a problem maybe 9 months ago we called and they basically sent us a new one for the shipping cost of about $12 to fix the problem. They have a very good reputation with service and standing behind their product.
Call back and keep us informed with what happens. It would be nice to know that the service doesn't go away just because it's a different company.

As of Jan 1, 2013 Fantastic Vent no longer supplies replacement parts free or just for the cost of shipping. I was told this by their customer service manager. Their warranty policy is still a good one for their new products, but they no longer offer free lifetime replacements.

IMHO take the old parts off and go to a large (not Camping world) RV parts store and buy what you need. They should have them on the shelf.

I had to deal with Atwood/Fantastic vent a couple of months ago. It is no longer the same company regarding customer service. I was told no one stocks replacement parts, only available from Atwood. They will send a vent lid shut off switch nc but that is all. "The terms of the warranty will be followed with out exception". Good luck.

I talked to them a month ago and I could not tell any diff.
They shipped a new moter to me and I had it two days later, just paid the $12.00 shipping.
Still a great company-they honor the old "Lifetime Guarentee"

I needed replacement parts for our kitchen fan. The service department identified what I needed since I didn't have the part number of the fan and sent them out within two days. You now have to pay for the parts and shipping but it wasn't a bad experience with them at all. I would give them another call. Good Luck.

Are you sure you talked to Fantastic Vent/Atwood? I called month ago and after spending 45 minutes with an impatient tech who advised me I needed a new motor. I paid $73 for 5-7 working day ground shipping for the new motor. It ended up not needing a new motor! .
Atwood brough a total of 3 people from the original Michigan company, who are all working in production. The 'tech' told me the problem with the old company was free stuff. They would send out free parts overnight to customers without keeping track of anything. The original company was a small family operation without any controls. Atwood has corrected all that crap and now the 1 and 2 year warranties will be strictly adhered too. The only NC item is the cover switch. I told him I thought they were making a mistake as the reputation of the old Fantastic VEnt was worth a lot of free advertising. Just read the Amazon reviews. There are a couple of other good fan companies who will now be much more competitive.
"All good things come to an end!" Good luck!

I needed a new wall mounted remote assy a couple months ago and while the service was good, the parts were not free. $43 + shipping. But it worked....

**Update - I called again yesterday a couple of times and finally got a tech person. Nice guy! Cover and parts are on there way for a $12 shipping fee only. I am a little concerned that he fully understood what I needed, but he is sending me some parts.

My take on the "new" Fan-Tastic Fan tech support......seems like a pretty busy small crew of folks handling these calls. They are trying their best to satisfy customers, but over time this may be tough with a small crew. IMHO for their name to stay at the top they are going to need to add some more help.

Great forum here and a wealth of information!

Thanks everyone for your responses earlier!

Too bad about the "new" company.
Several years ago I had one top break the mounting boss off the vent bracket that holds the vent down. In the conversation and after they had the shipping info I asked about upgrading to the double wall covers. All they asked was how many did I need. Sent two new ones at no charge just as though they were the OEM single wall ones.
Yep, I was prepared to pay for the upgrade but it was free, even the shipping.

JimboIndy, what phone number did you use to call? I left a message more than a week ago and haven't gotten a response yet.

I've been trying to troubleshoot my fan but without success. At first the vent would open when I turned the fan on using the thermostat, but the fan would work one time but not the next. Now using the thermostat has no affect on the fan at all; no vent opening or fan operation. Any suggestions would be appreciated
