Here is a PDF file from Fantastic Vent. I don't know if this is your model or not, but it looks like Fantastic Vent has several other PDF's for troubleshooting.

Let us know how it goes!

Uh??? Fans require 12 volts to work. Do you expect it to work by magic?

I think you were trying to say that if you connected 12 volts to the fantastic fan motor it works but when you connected it to the control panel it did not work.

Let me ask a really simple question. Does your fantastic fan have a temp control on it. Look for a knob that has various shades of blue going to various shades of red. If the fan does not work when you have power to the control panel move the knob to one end if still does not work move to the other end.

Do you have the cover on the fan open far enough the cover has to be open for it to work.

IF those do not fix it let us know

What model number do you have? On mine, if I turn the fan on and the dome is closed nothing happens. But as I raise the dome the fan starts after the dome reaches about half way.

But as you can see from the web site, they make many different units to accommodate many different taste.

On our last trip, the rear Fantastic Fan stopped working. The dome went up but no fan. The culprit was a small twig wedged between the fan blade and the housing.

Maybe a picture would help us figure this out. My gut says, from your description of the problem, there is a 12 volt fuse blown somewhere. Maybe contacting Fantastic Fan people would lead to a wealth of information, that I hope you share with us!

Good Luck, and keep us posted.

If it worked by magic, that would make it truly "fantastic"!

Without knowing your model number, here's what I would try.

If you can open the cover manually, go up on the roof and disconnect the 2 motor wires and check for voltage. Mine read 13.2 volts. If you do not get a voltage reading, there should be a grounding plunger near the back of the vent. Push it a couple of time and check voltage again. If you get a reading above 12, plug the motor back in again. This will a least tell you if your getting voltage to the motor or if the motor is bad.

Call fantastic vents for help. They have a 2 year parts and labor warranty plus and additional 5 years parts.
