Let me be honest with you here, I love a 500 CI engine or two in a Hallet boat and being on Lake Mead is one of the neatest things I have been able to do in my past fun times. I plan on doing it again sometime down the road.

Fast DP!

A C-130 was lumbering along when a cocky F- 16 flashed by.
The jet jockey decided to show off.

The fighter jock told the C-130 pilot, 'watch this!' and promptly went into a barrel roll followed by a steep climb.
He then finished with a sonic boom as he broke the sound barrier.

The F-16 pilot asked the C-130 pilot what he thought of that?

The C-130 pilot said, 'That was impressive, but watch this!'

The C-130 droned along for about 5 minutes and then the C-130 pilot came back on and said:

'What did you think of that?'

Puzzled, the F-16 pilot asked, 'What the heck did you do?'

The C-130 pilot chuckled.
'I stood up, stretched my legs, walked to the back, took a leak, then got a cup of coffee and a cinnamon roll.'

When you are young & foolish - speed & flash may seem a good thing!

When you get older & smarter, comfort & dull is not such a bad thing!

Us older folks understand this one, it's called S.O.S.
Slower, Older and Smarter....

Sure glad this doesn't apply to me. I weigh in at 13580lbs, tires are speed rated for 106 mph. I have yet to exceed that, but someday I'd like to try it. DW won't let me take the coach to Bonneville. I have seen 98 on the GPS 3 times, twice towing the Grand Cherokee. Once eluding a harassing driver who kept cutting in front of me and slowing down. Did not have a cell phone within reach, so I could not call it in. He was holding all traffic down to the low 40s. Harassed me for about 20 miles, till I finally got beside him. I buried it, and just pulled away. He couldn't keep up. Put several miles between him and myself, so I then slowed down. That was the only time I have ever done anything like that in traffic. The other times, I was the only one on the road.
Generally I flow with the traffic. Speed does not kill. Speed differential does. If all the traffic is going the same speed, within the capability of your vehicle, there is no one to hit. I have no handling issues at any speed I have gone. The manufacturer advertised that you can cruise safely over 90 mph, if that is your thing.

Hmmmm. . . . . . Ever wonder about all of the stuff on the side of the road and how fast it is going?

One of the jobs I had when working was to inspect the roadway whenever there was a fatal accident in the road district I supervised. Thankfully I never had to attend an active scene.

Worst things to find at the scene were things like small stuffed animals or toy bracelets missed during the cleanup.

Very few of the reviews I did involved two vehicles running together. Most had the vehicle leaving the roadway. Most were at highway or better speed. Most destructive was the vehicle approach collision.

One of the things I came to the conclusion about was to avoid hitting an approach at all costs unless the alternative was something bigger and more solid.
