With 30K lbs delta, a rolling start at 50 seems fair.

We have to work to get ours to shift into top gear (4) at about 63 or so.

Was at 75 or so on a country road on our second drive as we were paying attention to where the wheels where and the ride was so smooth we thought we were a lot slower...distance from road changes the look...

Many DP can easily cruise at high speed but maybe not a good idea.

Less stress not looking for LEOs

It's all relative Fast to some is slow to the faster !!!

After hours of uneventful driving the cruise control on our DP looses control !?!
Not sure what it is, went to ask my wife why it was bumping up 1 to 2 mph per mile and she's always asleep when it happens ??? Isn't that a coincidence !!!

IMHO, if you have a proven unit, and you know your unit, with 22.5 tires rated at 75 mph, which is 10 mph under the speed limit out in the boonies, so why not ??? if an event happens, it's going to happen and you deal with it.
Life's too short to expect something to go wrong every moment...
but then there's those that are surprised when something doesn't go wrong !

just to see was the only reason to wot the motorhome... I usually tow a box trailer so I set the cruise at 62... 55 is speedlimit towing in cal

and run 65 towing in Utah ,AZ, and Nev... I usally try to run a mile a minute on the average... the only time I go over 70 is to pass someone... and bout the time you are hanging out there , they decide to speed up.. and next the mo ho shut down and 74 mph..... I now can run up to 84/85 before it shuts down...

Wow,
All this "hot rod" talk pertaining to motor home driving. Well, I guess that's cool if, it's what you think you need. While our coach "CAN" do between 75-80, I prefer around 62-65. I'm not overly concerned about fuel mileage because, frankly, there isn't any over about 7.0-7.5 anyway. But, both the wife and I simply are more at ease at that lower speed. I could give a rats a$$ about who passes us.

I figure it's just easier on the coach if I don't push it. The RPMs hover around 1650-1700 at that speed which, is just "humming" along.

My old girl is all duded out with Banks everything for her era. I can easily maintain 75 if I let her go. 90% of the time we are content to cruise along at 55 to 60 mph as that is her sweet spot. I wander the rainbow too and like to keep the same speed going up one side as going down the other.

I've driven our '02 Dutch Star at 70 mph, but I also found I arrived a few minutes later and MUCH more relaxed if I stay around 60.

The Magna is a different story though. It's much smoother and quieter, in fact I got my first ticket (speeding) in almost 30 years driving it.

Years a go we went from 18 wheel log trucks to 26 wheels. The weight went from 42000 kg to 63000. I was training a bunch of guys on these new trucks. The biggest lesson I taught them was to take it up to 70 mph. and then make a panic stop as if a child ran out in front of you.
The result was most of them were very conscious of their speed. Try it in your coach at 70 mph.

I could never understand why some are so obsessed with pushing the limit in a motor home. With tires rated for a max speed of 75, why flirt with what could happen. I thought RVing was supposed to be a relaxing experience. I'm one of those 62 mph (on the interstate) guys that delights in not having to think about the need to pass anyone. At the end of the day, I'm still relaxed and sometimes hate to stop.
