Fast DP!
Driving south yesterday on I-75 near Macon, GA with my car's cruise set at 75mph, I noticed a MH gaining on us. It turned out to be a late model Monaco 400HP DP, maybe 38', with a motorcycle (not a scooter or moped) on a platform between the MH and Jeep Rubicon he was towing. Traffic was light, so I followed the Monaco for an hour or so. He was running a steady 78 MPH and cruising along like it was on rails. It was impressive how in control he seemed to be, but hate to think what could have happened if there was an accident at that speed. Am I wrong in thinking he was operating too close to the edge?

Anyone is free to disagree with me on this... but this is the reason there are so many accidents on I-75. Speeding. There is little room for error at those speeds with such large heavy rigs. Again, just my opinion.

You are the reason for the accidents if you were driving 75 mph. Probably on the phone and fixing your hair at the same time or were you reading?

I personally would not feel comfortable running at 78 to 80 for any length of time in my coach. And running at that RPM up the long grade I bet the fuel economy was doing great as well.

I can run up it way less rpm than your coach... I have the 22.5 tires...
I set it into 3rd at 67 mph ... but also because I'm able to hold the gear
I can slow to 60mph at about 3300 rpm...
I get way better gas milage than the class c...that's why I got rid of the class c... no power and it sucked gass no matter what..up or down hill
I think I passed a class c at the 30 second mark on the video
the bigger class A don't have enough power to do 78 or 82 and they shut off at 74

in the wild wild west where I live that's the speed limit, keep her under 85 and all's good...

My "problem" is I run our of gearing before I run out of power. I need a couple more overdrive gears and I can make it to 120 then.

Hint: mine don't quit at 74.
However, I am not in a hurry, have nothing to prove, stowed my tude decades ago, and would not beat up my RV nor risk the welfare of others.
YMMV
