Fast pumping water pump

as title says, the speed of water pumping is noticeably faster in rpm than used to be. does it indicate the pump is near the end of the life? get a spare now?

Mine runs faster when it is sucking air. Could you have a leak on the suction side? Or a valve partially closed. Mine also does this if I have the "fill tank" valve turned to fill instead of "normal" or partially turned it will still pump water inside and run the pump faster. If you are going to change it I can recommend the larger Surflo pump. My DW always complains of low water pressure in the coach. I told her for years that it's not like a house. I finally caved and switched the 2.8 gpm pump for a 4.0gpm pump. I actually save water this way because she doesnt spend as long in the shower with more pressure. My only concern was the 55 psi, the old pump was 45 psi. I asked a plumber friend about the PEX plumbing and if it was ok and he said the PEX could run at 75 and be ok but not to go that high.havent had any pressure issues in over a year and I'm very happy with the pump. It is the same noise level too.

thanks RSteele for the info. you reminded me that a few days ago i drained the fresh water tank, not sure if i have unintentionally turned the valves down there. i will check it tomorrow.

i'll keep eyes open for the faster surflo. good stuff. also the 55 psi city water regulator. i read somewhere they recommended it.

checked the wet bay, no, i didn't touch the pump related the other day, and the wires/water hoses are all fine. not a good sign i guess, it's probably the time to have a back up.

looking up closely, it's flojet "quiet quad" mod 04406-143 Type IV Multi-Fixture Water Pump. will go get one.
