Feedback in speakers when inverter/charger on

I get a consistent, loud hum in my speakers when inverter or charger is running. I even hear hum in the unit itself as well as faint hum over on the ATS. All the battery connections are good, clean and tight. I have checked all of the grounds on the ATS and inverter. The ATS is brand new (problem there before ATS went in). If inverter/charger is off no hum. It is a Freedom 2000w inverter/charger. I have read that they are pretty junky, yet functional units.

Are there connections inside the unit I can check? Or do I just need to replace it? Or is my hum gremlin coming from somewhere else and it is just magnified when inverter/charger is running?

Also, on a newbie question, I was told to turn the inverter off before I hook up to power or run the genset. But reeading around the board it seems most RV's have a ATS for the inverter too. Is that built into the inverter? I hate the blinkging microwave clock...

You can try a shielded speaker wire set. Alao Radio Shack can sell you a diode to install at the inverter to suppress the noise. For your inverter question, leave it on
