I use a product called Nyalic. Clean it good and then coat. Lasts for several years, no need to strip just re-coat over the top again. It glistens!
Weather was aweful here. I took the coach in for other work and had them clean and apply Nyalic while it was there. They had never seen it before. They were so impressed; they are now distributors of it.
