Excellent. My DW often drives. It's great being able to switch off the driving task. And in case if emergency or medical need it can be a very good thing.

Lots of us girls drive. You need to be prepared for any situation. Be sure she also learns your set up/tear down camp tasks as well & you should know hers.

My wife didn't drive our Class C. Its going to take some convincing but I would like for her to eventually drive our Class A. I know we will have to start slow. Like, taking her to a large empty parking lot like our local university football field. That way she can drive around without the threat of hitting anything but a cone or 2.

My wife took the Lazy Days course and was quite capable of driving. She ended up driving a total of 20' during our 93,000 miles ( moved the MH up 10' twice so I could fuel up the toad ). She navigated or as she self describes it as nagrivated and I drove. We both preferred it this way. [emoji2]

Thanks all for the replies :-)
We did look for courses in Michigan could not find one.
I will just let her take deiving at her own pace.
Like others have said for an emergency she needs to know how to drive it. I don't think she had ever driven a column shifter before. We are from Ireland and Scotland so learned to drive in manual cars

My wife used to drive our gas class A's and did a very good job, but has declined to drive the DP's. Up until now we pulled a 26' trailer with it and were 75' long. She just did not want to have to deal with everything involved with it. Even now with a shorter open trailer or no trailer at all, she would rather bring me cookies and drink or just read and sleep.

My wife drives it like she stole it. Thank goodness for cruise control! Once she got herself oriented between the white lines it was a go. It's a load off my mind if something happens to me. I couldn't force it, it was at her own pace.

Try RVSchool.com - I (we) took their 12-hour couples course with Glyn Carson (based out of Toledo) - they have other instructors all over the country. We broke ours up in to three four-hour days. I (DW) did most of the driving.
