Finally Got the Flat Screen Installed In The Bedroom!
After suffering with the iddy biddy old tube TV in the bed room I finally got around to ripping it out and installing the flat screen. Took a piece of oak plywood and cut it to fit inside the TV cabinet on the outside wall, glued and screwed it to the wall then lag screwed the swivel mount to the plywood, (after finishing the wood to match the oak in out coach). Mounted a couple of security straps and viola, it's as solid as can be. Wow, what a difference! Now we can relax in bed and watch movies, pull the TV out to the proper angle and lay back and enjoy!
Tell me what you think?

"finally got the flat screen installed in the bedroom!"
I removed a mirror and put in a bigger tv.

I did something similar - pulled the old TV, bought some plywood and covered up the hole.
Didn't bother with a replacement TV though.

Great job. Now don't fall out of bed the 1st time you turn it on being the screen is so large. Enjoy.

Is your new tv HD. If so,did you have to change your existing antenna? I am seeing different comments on this.

Yes the TV is HD but our coach already had an HD antenna on it. It also came with a sat. dish but all the components for it were in a pile and I have no idea how to hook it up. That's ok cuz right now we are just part timing and don't see the sense in paying for a sat. subscription when we would hardly ever use it. What we use right now is a Seagate media player that I download movies onto and hook it up through a HDMI cable, lay back and enjoy a movie. The only time we even watch TV is when the weather isn't very nice, otherwise we are outside enjoying nature. We don't go camping to sit inside and look out the windows!
