Financing for older models
We ascribe to the belief that it's better to let someone else eat the depreciation and work out the issues but i am wondering about financing these older models. We have excellent credit so that shouldn't be an issue but are we looking at limited options for financing?

I was able to finance about 60% of our 10 year old rig through the work credit union. The rest came from our trade and cash.
The credit union last year gave a rebate of 70% of the interest.

We have been shopping and several dealers won't take our trade due to over 10 years old. Many cut off financing at that age so the buyer must have cash or some other source of financing like home equity. The dealers we spoke with didn't want to be bothered.

How old? USAA has up to 100% financing for used RVs, but I don't know the age requirement.

We had great luck with Good Sam financing. They understand RV's and RV owners.

Southeast Financing and Great West will both do 100% loans for RV's back to about 2006 model. That's who I used. No problems.
FYI my local Credit Union was my first choice but they would only go 5 years. That made the payment about $1500/mo rather than the $500/mo that I wound up with.

If you have excellent credit, US Bank will go back 12 years old and do 80% of the value.
They were easy to work with and will do up to 15 years on the loan payment

I would not tie my home to a depreciating RV loan if you have to do that you cant afford it,

We had good luck dealing with Southeast Financial. SEF will consider loaning back to 1998 on a case by case basis. 09-new will be better rates and terms Anything 08 and older the rates change depending on the unit and mileage.

The one we're looking at is 15 years old and USAA will give up to 80% on it for 180 months. Kinda surprised me.
