I know the route and there are several other stations but they didn't make the price cut.
The next test I used an I-84 route to Portland, OR, and again, it showed 2-3 truck stops but ALSO showed Love's & Pilot. No Flying J likely because Love's owns them now. Best price was a Space Age station. All the stations displayed are numbered lowest price to highest so I can click on the one labeled #1 and it displays the name and address.
I set it up to display a truck approved route and the stations it's selecting prices for seem to be truck stops. I'm going to use it soon to see if that holds...that it gives me stations I can fit the rig into.

“that it gives me stations I can fit the rig into.” LOL
Over the decades, I’ve found that just fitting the rig in sometimes is not enough when flat-towing and totally unable to use that button labeled “R”. We used to be able to obtain fuel at grocery chain stations on major highways that “look” OK, but after I’ve had to drive up over the curb and on the grass because of tight turns exiting, or 3 cars suddenly parked in my way, with the owners MIA, that mistake was never made again.
The outright rudeness of some drivers is mid boggling sometimes. A couple years ago, at a crowded fuel stop on a 4 lane highway in Idaho, I was finished up at an island in which I had to make a hard right to depart, was already in the driver’s seat, slowly creeping forward while watching my sides to miss all the trash cans, posts, and other interference.
All of a sudden, a ragged-looking Ram pick-up stops at the curb, immediately in front of me, the mutant driver climbs out and starts heading into the store. I opened my window and politely said he was blocking me; his reply was “I’m only getting cigarettes, looks like you can get out OK if you back around the other way” and he continued on his way. After 10 minutes of watching him selecting brands, he finally came out and ever so slowly started his truck, sorted out paperwork in his wallet, lit a cigarette for himself and his passenger, THEN pulled out. [moderator edit]
Experiences like THAT are reasons I carefully choose ONLY truck stops if at all possible for buying fuel for the coach, not venturing off to save a few bucks...

Totally agree with you! Pilot/Flying J almost ALWAYS has long lines of trucks buying fuel, and tanker trucks delivering fresh fuel on a regular basis. As I said in another post, they are generally the cheapest at the exit, or at least in line with the other truck stops.
In several years of carefully monitoring my fuel filter and filter separator (with clear bowl), I’ve yet to have any sort of issue with obvious impurities or water. Last May, when I changed out my filters at a friend’s home in Ontario, we decided to cut open the old filter to see its’ condition. After 15 months and about 11,500 miles of use, filtering fuel purchased from CA, up to WA, back down through MT, NV, AZ, back to the east coast and up to northern Ontario, I was able to determine ONE thing. Apparently, I wasted $53.00 replacing both fuel filters, since we couldn’t find any evidence of dirt, sediment at the bottom, whatever. I’ll stick with Pilot/Flying-J for a while...

I only get 30,000 miles out of my primary fuel filter and 50,000 out of the secondary buying the cheapest GasBuddy fuel within 2 mile of the exit. On occasion I’ve had to use R to get out (do not have to unhook). This has happened maybe twice in 70,000 miles or 10,000 gallons X $0.30 (average saving) is only $3,000. I know, hardly worth the effort.
PS: Ben was wrong as “a penny saved is a penny earned” is not true today. I have to earn $1.40 to have $1.00 to spend after all the taxes so my actual savings is only $4,200. Your mileage may vary.

I put the Gas Buddy in map mode and have the copilot slide the map to see stations up ahead as far as you want to look. It just may take a few seconds to load in the data for the area you have slid the map too. I also use the app Waze as it gives great info on the road conditions. If you bring up gas stations it will bring up stations ahead on your route, how far and the price. See one you like, touch it and Waze will tell you the time to go are navigate you to it. I was a old school maps person but once I saw all that Waze would tell me as I drove along I saw the light. You do need a holder for your phone though so it is in your line of sight, otherwise it’s to distracting if you have to pick your phone up to look at it.

My father, who had an RV for 50 years - 20 years of that full timing, had a motto for buying fuel, "Fill up long before you need to. Forget about the price per gallon."
What works for me is try to fill up every time you stop for a break. In my case, that's every 2 to 2 1/2 hours. rarely do I let the needle get below 3/4 of a tank.
Personally, I hate like hell to see the number on the pump run up over $100! LOL. I rarely pay the lowest price for gas - and also rarely pay the highest.

Couldn’t agree MORE!!!!
My last three coaches have had 100 gallon tanks, and the ONLY time I ever had to put more than 40 gallons in was the first day I had it. Lazydays paperwork stated I would receive a full tank of diesel/propane/DEF. HAH!!! There was barely 1/8 tank of diesel fuel, 1/4 tank of DEF, but the propane tank was full (still is 3 years later since we never use the two furnaces/stove and leave the water heater on electric).
I barely had enough to get to the nearest truck stop and spent about $250.00 on 87 gallons... The sales manager at Lazydays told me they were going to put fuel in it, but the service person in charge of fueling was out for the afternoon, so I had to wait until someone could take care of it. Unfortunately, I had signed and accepted the coach much earlier, so they were done with their “customer service”-LOL

I've RVed since 1972 and have never looked for the cheapest fuel. I used Flying J for years with my GS discount but with the gasser and Toad I had to set many, many times waiting on the RV in front of me to come back out of the store and move or 4 wheelers double parking in the exit lanes.
When I bought my first diesel I hit the truck lanes and have never looked back - still used Flying J or Pilot after they bought out Flying J utilizing my GS discount BUT NOW
Since I signed up with TSD Logistics and use their Fuel Card I have moved to Loves for the majority of my fuel saving upwards of 40 cents a gallon. I don't search, I get in and out and back on the road and save money at the same time.
Some here have seemingly berated the discount program and that's okay; To each his own is my moto.
Enjoy the day - Richard

Class A camping for the last 12 years dp and gas never a problem at pilot/flyingj...except for an irate trucker now and then..I still remember when pro-drivers were courteous.

You will always pay .20 to.30 MORE at LOVE’s, FLYING J, and TRAVEL AMERICA “truck stops.
They are the ones with easy in and out cause they’re built for big rigs but they will gouge you.

My dp has a 90 gallon tank. So I can easily go 600-700 miles between fueling.
I try to use either Fred Meyer or Costco.
Always easy in and out and always good fuel. Wife does shopping ifneeded while I fuel. Competitive or best prices too.
Key is to plan your fueling if you know your routing.

Knew I’d fill up at Sam’s in Lincoln NE, yesterday ...$2.49 X 120 gallons ($300) plus I get 12 cents off with my Sam’s credit card (5%). Wife went and bought lunch (2 dogs), $3. FlyJ price $2.89 cash so my price $2.37 is $0.52 difference X 120= $62. I do miss the long handled brushes at FU-J.
