Fire at RV storage

Just in case you happen to be out of town and store your RV at Florida West in Palm Harbor, you may want to know that section B & C were completely destroyed 2 nights ago. While the investigation continues, we are not allowed into the facility and it will be approximately 2 weeks before anyone can even view the damage.

Fortunately, my unit is located in section D, but at this point can't determine if we have any heat or smoke damage.

A couple if pictures taken this morning.

I heard about this fire yesterday. I hope your rig is untouched. Keep us posted.

That is a prime example of a good reason not to drop you insurance while your Rv is in storage.

Very unfortunate and sad. I lost my Toad and Coach in a fire on the interstate 2 years ago, brings back some very bad memories. I hope people had good insurance on their personal property in their units and on the units themselves.

You need to make sure you don't depend solely on your Homeowners for your personal property in your RV's, as your Homeowners has an exclusion for some items as they relate to your vehicle or intended to be used on your vehicle, hitches, tow bars, auxiliary brakes, even some of my lawn furniture and patio rugs where excluded.

Good luck to everyone affected and hopefully no one was injured in fighting the fire.

What a mess. I am sure the cause of the fire will probably never really be known. Maybe arson or electrical from being plugged in to keep the batteries charged. Or refrigerator that was on and caught fire. Just to bad. I feel bad for everyone who had damage or lost their coach, boat, car or whatever they had stored. I hope your coach is not damaged and you can get in to look it over soon. Being locked out would drive me crazy.
