Firestone Tires
I am looking at some Firestone tires for my 38 ft 2008 Monaco Knight. The tire size is 275/70R22.5 I can get them for $367 a tire. Would like to know if anyone has put these tires on their MH and get their feed back on them.
Thanks for the info.

I've still got a bad taste in my mouth for Firestone tires. I just can't forget what happened a LONG time ago! JMHO!

I'm guessing you're referring to the Firestone/Ford Explorer debacle. The finger pointing was so bad that congress passed the TREAD act.
Since then, Firestone was swallowed up by Japanese tire maker, Bridgestone. Their technology is is up to date. I haven't had Firestone tires for a long, long time - but I know Bridgestone is equal to the best in tire technology.

I replaced (8 months ago) aged out Michelins with Firestone FS560 tires. I am pleased with my choice and money saved.

I installed Firestone FS560's on our last MH. I like that way they handled and I got a good price on them. When the GY tires on our current MH need to be replaced, I will install FS560's again, unless they have some thing better on hand.As far as Firestone/Bridgestone tires go, I have then on all of our vehicles. I have not had any issues with them tread coming apart, but I pay attention to the tires. I have one set on my Dodge truck that I got 82k out of before I replaced them.

When it comes to tires, don't try to save money just for the sake of saving money. I believe tires are one of the most important safety items on your unit. Ensure they are true steelbelted tires as in truck tires. You may even consider talking to a truck tire dealer. Good luck, be safe.

$367 is a good price.
Is that out the door balanced and installed or just the bare tire?
Local Dealer?

The Firestone debacle extends to a time long before the Explorer incident. Back in the 1970's they had a series called the Firestone 500's. There were all kinds of problems with tires exploding and people being killed. Firestone knew they had a problem, but they kept quiet.
They realized eventually they would have to recall the tires but held of until they believed most of them had either blown up or worn out. They were trying to minimize the amount of money it would cost knowing most people wouldn't hold on to worn or damaged tires hoping they could get a refund in the future.
The whole thing backfired on them when the federal government got involved. It ended up costing them more money in fines than it would have cost to replace every Firestone 500 tire they ever built. To top it off they still had to replace all of the tires remaining on the road.
As a side note I've purchased 3 trucks over the years that have come with Firestone tires from the factory. Every tire was either recalled by the manufacturer or was replaced under warranty by a dealer within the first year.

We replaced our Goodyear tires with Firestone 560 and have had good ride & decent price-I think a little more sidewall is a stiffer ride but also safer-Just because you pay more for a tire doesn't mean you bought a better tire-I have heard people having good & bad luck with different tires-MH-radio's ETC.-Our local dealer thinks a stiffer sidewall like the 560 is a better wearing & safer tire-Yea I know he is a salesmen-Walk around the campground and get first hand info on tires would probably be more benificial then listening to people that aren't satisfied with a tire even though they never check their weights or air pressure

The price per tire is $367. I have the paper in hand and it is $367. This is a 16 ply tire. I have not bought the tires yet but was trying to get feed back on that type and size of the Firestone tire.
Thank for the feed back so far.
