First "long" trip in motorhome

We are considering our first long trip (2-4 weeks) in our 2004 HR Scepter that we have had for four years. Our trips so far have been NC to FL each winter for several months and the occasional long week ends in the NC mountains. I have the MH serviced by Cummings and Allison each year. The tires are good. So far we have had no maintenance or service problems so my confidence is pretty high on the mechanical side.

My question to the group is what should I be on the look out for during travel as to what might happen that would cause major problems. I have Coach Net for emergency road service.

Thanks for your input and advice.

Sounds like you've pretty much got it covered Bill!

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

It's difficult to predict what could happen. I think as long as you do all the routine service as scheduled and have a roadside assistance policy that you've done about all you can do. The only other thing I'd add is to have a pretty good tool box if you are capable of doing some repairs beside the road.

Sounds like you're in good shape, you might want to add a spare fuel filter in case you get some bad fuel along the way, and spare belts might also be a good move.

Enjoy that first long trip!!

I carry spare fuel filters, spare belts, engine oil and coolant.
