Our Damon we got in November had ad false wall behind the sofa that had 3 cup holders in it. I pulled the sofa and removed the wall. Then moved the sofa back so it gave us about 6 more inches of space. Then on the sofa bed I added wire cross ways to give it more support and used turnbuckles so they could be tightened. Also cut 3/4 in ply and carpeted it to go over the stairs when were parked for the night.

Nice work, we have been upgrading coach as well. Cheaper than buying another. So far we have installed MCD shades throughout, new leather sofas, and a residential fridge. Six AGM batteries,and will next install a pure sine wave inverter.

A great job finding 6" of space. A great trade off for a few cupholders........ geez what was Damon thinking on that one.

Please be sure the step cover is quick and easy to remove. It is rare, but in the case of an emergency (fire, etc) every second counts to get out and save lives.

Finding extra space or especially finding space for unusual or oversized items is always rewarding. I love doing projects on my coach. You get to be a wood worker, metal fabricator, carpet layer, electrician, plumber and mechanic all at once. Nice work.

Thanks all, were still seeing what we want to do for it maybe change out the TV's to LED sets. I also changed the oil this weekend and air filter a few weeks back. When we travel with it we don't really spend much time in it after were parked. Were normally going places that we bring our off road toys. So sleeping and breakfast and dinner sometimes are it.
Also still figuring out the best way to store underneath.
George thanks for the heads up on the safety I agree was thinking about hinging it so it flips up and almost auto locks up with a bracket. Not sure on that one, open to ideas. I'll put that in another post.
