Fix that pull out
I have a 2016 Winnebago Vista 35 F deluxe. One end of the couch extends to expand the seating. My problem is the cable that connects the black pull out lever to the catch on the outside wall has come loose at the catch end. I can see it but I can't get at it to reattach it. It looks like I have to remove the pull out seat to get at it. Yes it is under warranty but dealer, Giant RV, says six to eight weeks. I contacted Winnebago and they simply emailed me a copy of the manual pages on how to operate the lever. It is spring in the west and I want to travel not wait for a dealer to have an opening 2 months down the road.
The dinette upholstery is not only of poor quality but also was and is soiled. The laminate on the back of the seats is coming loose and the staples across the back of the seats are poking through the fabric. We will replace the upholstery ourselves with a more durable quality fabric and we will have the laminate reattached at that time. Caveat: Think twice about buying a RV show display model. Also assume that the quality control is lax at the plant and the dealer. Tighten all hose clamps, knobs, and misc fasteners yourself.
Notwithstanding these problems we love our New Winnebago. We just finished a 6,000 mile trip with a stop at MCD shades in Texas to have a new power day/night shade installed on the windshield and cab side day/night pull downs. No more funky curtain. MCD are great people with a great product. They even corrected the Winnebago installed cabin shade install.
Not that it will do much good but I plan on stopping this summer at Winnebago to let them know what I think of their quality control and dealer service network.
Anyone out there know how to get at the pull out cable described above?. Yes I have some mechanical skills.
