You are comparing Apples to Oranges, all the Discovery's are rock solid when it comes to driving, there is zero issues with wind or passing semi's. The chassis are completely different than a gasser and the weight is also much more, even more so if you get one on a Spartan chassis.
Can confirm what the others have said, our Discovery has been great, best motor home we have ever owned.

I not going to say that with 20 to 30 mph side wind it doesn't affect the coach because it does but it is still doable and safe. I will say that on either a 2 lane or 4 lane highway with a semi passing it so stable I could use one finger to control it (I don't I keep both hands on the steering wheel for safety).

We love our Discovery. Have had it right at a year and put on 10,000 miles. No major problems. I like the 38N floor plan I did not see that layout when we bought ours. I would like the 2nd bath. But I also like that the bunks in the 40G are like a separate bedroom.

Almost weekly, I've been Google-ing for a 38W or LXE 40M for sale somewhere so I can go see one (other than pictures on FW's website/brochures). Those floorplans have over taken my love of the 40X but I've gotta be able to get in one to really see if I like it. Got a quote from MHSRV for a 38W outfitted as I want & I'm very pleased with it.

Good to hear. I am deciding between a 40g and a Tag axle 44b. One of the things weighing on my decision is if the 40g would get pushed around or not. That would be plus 1 for the 44b on the list.
I realize the 40g is a completely superior beast to my old gasser 35b but that drive out to mt Rushmore still brings back some not so pleasent memories on the highway.

I can't really comment on the difference between a tag axle and non tag axle other than repeating what I have been told by others. No personal experience. The tag axle Discoveries weren't around when I was looking but that would have complicated my decision. Good luck.

We have a 2012 Expedition (which we bought new in 2012). This is pretty much the same as the Discovery, but with somewhat lower quality finish on the inside. As others have said, driving is wonderful with very little trouble from side winds and passing trucks. Early on we had one problem with a DEF pump, but once fixed the engine has been rock solid ( to me it seems like it just “purrs” down the road [emoji4]). Excellent power to weight ratio, so absolutely to problems on all but the steepest/highest mountain passes. (Discovery has a higher HP engine, so i think the same will hold). Maintenance has been excellent, with only the expected small stuff needing to be replaced (driving lights, water pump, and some screws “unscrewing” due to road vibrations). Like others have said - excellent value fir the money! Never regretted getting it![emoji4][emoji106]

Had 2000 Discovery 37V. Sold it with 105k miles. We now have a 2012 Discovery 40X with 380 hp Cummins. We've put 25k mile on it in the two years we've owned it. All I can say is like others have said, "It's a great coach", good floor plans, good power to weight, good value, no real issues.
We took the Fleetwood factory tour this past spring and was very impressed with the build process. The floor to wall to roof locking system is innovative.
You can't go wrong with a Discovery.

Recliner blocks access to 1/2 Bath
We are in the process of purchasing a new Discovery 38K MH. Really like the coach overall but have an issue with the double recliner when the slides are in. The rear recliner blocks the access to the 1/2 Bath when the slides are in. We have asked the Dealer to move the one back a little even if it does not allow it to recline. Dealer says it cannot be moved back because it is attached to the center console which is tight to the wall. Fleetwood design flaw in my opinion.
Has anyone else had this issue and is there a way to correct it?
Thank you.

We have a Fleetwood Bounder diesel 38s right now. Very similar to the Discovery but would love to get back in a Discovery. Had a Discovery 38n, was a great coach. If I had the $$$ I would go back to a Discovery.

Searched high and low across all makes and this is a very true statement. Lot of coach for the money.
