As luck would have it, the Winn was sold today.... But I think this discussion showed me that I should keep looking. I still will keep the Fleetwood in mind...

Having owned both Fleetwood and Winnebagos before myself, I would take the Winnebago every time. Its just a better coach.

clubracer6, when your looking at prospective coaches make sure you look at what amp service the coach has. i believe the 97 discovery has a 30 amp service. (our 2000 discovery did) you will not be happy with the 30 amp service with a coach that has 2 roof airs elec. water heater, micro/covec. oven etc. go with a coach that has 50 amp service. jim

Just fyi, here's what Winnebago shows for its 1999 Models. I don't see and I've never heard of an 'Ultra'--are you actually talking about the 'Ultimate Advantage' or 'Ultimate Freedom'?

Yep, the Ultimate Advantage.

I ended up making an offer on the Fleetwood. It has new Michelin's and a warranty and a lot of piece of mind. I think for 30, it's just about bottomed out in value, so it's a good first DP for us that we can learn on and even see if we really get into it. I've never owned more than a 6 person tent, so this is a big step in! If in a few years hopefully it will sell for $25k or so, I think I won't have done so bad. If the high mileage Winn was still available, I would have taken it, but most of them are trading in the mid-40's.

Regarding power, I live in the flat land of the Midwest, so hopefully it's survivable.

Thanks for all the responses - seems like a really nice forum! Happy Friday and have a great weekend!!!
